ADRIAN, Mich. -- With every Adrian College Homecoming, the Bulldogs induct a new class of Hall of Fame members. During the week we will highlight the Class of 2024 and the accomplishments each of them made during their time at Adrian College.
On Friday, September 27, 2024, Adrian College will induct four teams from the women's lacrosse program including the 2011 Team, 2012 Team, 2013 Team, and 2014 Team to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
The 2011 Team, coached by John Sung, was named MWLC Champions and MWLC Tournament Champions. The team finished the season with an overall record of 16-5 and a perfect 6-0 record in the conference. The 2011 team made the program's first trip to the NCAA Tournament where the season came to an end in the First Round. The 2011 team featured nine All-Conference selections, the MWLC Offensive Player of the Year (Amanda Lambert), and four All-Region selections (Rachel Johnston, Amanda Lambert, Stacey Birlson, and Cassie Hoyez).
The 2012 Team, coached by Rachel Cibulas, earned the program's second consecutive MWLC Championship. The team finished the year with a program-high 17 wins to go with three losses and a perfect 7-0 conference record. The team went on to win the MWLC Tournament and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament where they fell to Denison in the First Round in overtime. Coach Cibulas won the MWLC Coach of the Year Award while the Bulldogs racked up nine All-Conference Selections and four All-Region selections (Rachel Johnston, Amanda Lambert, Stacey Birlson, and Cassie Hoyez).
The 2013 Team, coached by Rachel Cibulas, won the first MIAA Championship with a 17-3 record and a 6-0 conference record. The Bulldogs blew out Albion College and Alma College to win the MIAA Tournament and advance to the NCAA Tournament. The 2013 team advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament after an 18-16 win over Kenyon College in the First Round. Stacey Birlson was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Year and a Third Team All-American. Adrian totaled seven All-Conference selections and three All-Region selections (Stacey Birlson, Cassie Hoyez, and Hannah Early).
The 2014 Team, coached by Melissa Nakasuji, won the program's fourth straight conference title by finishing 8-0 in the MIAA and 12-6 overall on the season. The Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Tournament where the team's season ended in the Second Round. Hannah Early earned the MIAA Offensive Player of the Year Award while Brianna Plester was named MIAA Rookie of the Year. Eight Bulldogs earned All-Conference honors while two were named All-Region (Hannah Early and Brianna Plester).
In addition to the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday night, the Hall of Fame Class of 2024 will be honored on the field before the Homecoming football game on Saturday.
