ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Adrian College women's soccer team returned to action on the road on Thursday at the University of Mount Union. Adrian came away with a 2-0 victory to take momentum into their weekend contest. The Bulldogs improve to 3-0 all-time against Mount Union dating back to 2009.
The match was scoreless after the first half with Adrian controlling the game. After the first 45 minutes, the Bulldogs led 10-0 in shots with two landing on goal. Adrian had five opportunities on corner kicks, but couldn't find the back of the net.
In the second half,
Leah Homan put the Bulldogs on the board in the 56
th minute to lead 1-0. Later in the half,
Kelsey Zoli added to the scoring in the 84
th minute to lock up the victory.
Melanie Perhne added an assist on the goal.
Adrian led the battle In shots, 18-8, with six landing on goal against Mount Union's three.
Gabrielle Fallon Revels got the start in net where she completed the shutout after facing two shots on goal.
Adrian moves to 5-2 on the year and will play their last non-conference contest of the season at home on Sunday, September 29 against Baldwin Wallace at 1:00 PM at Docking Stadium.
