CLEVELAND, OHIO. - In a challenging opening to their three-game road trip in Cleveland, Ohio, the Adrian College women's volleyball team fell to Case Western Reserve University in a hard-fought three-set match.
The Bulldogs showed great determination in the first set, narrowly losing 23-25 as Case Western Reserve edged them out by just two points. Senior Amber Morris delivered a solid performance with 13 kills, while sophomore Virginia Rowan added nine kills to the effort.
The second set saw Case Western Reserve pull ahead more decisively, securing the set 18-25. Sophomore Kendall Sullivan was instrumental in setting the pace, leading the team with 20 assists and contributing three service aces. Junior Megan Reckling also played a key role, adding nine assists to the Bulldogs' tally.
Despite a valiant effort in the final set, the Bulldogs fell 20-25, with Case Western Reserve finishing strong. Defensively, seniors Mya Minjares and Lana Cox both excelled, each recording 14 digs to lead the team.
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back as they continue their road trip with two more matches ahead as they will take on Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday morning at 11:00 AM.Â
