BEREA, OHIO. - Adrian College's women's volleyball team faced a challenging doubleheader on Saturday, ultimately falling to Baldwin Wallace in four sets and Muskingum University in three.
In their first match against Baldwin Wallace, the Bulldogs showcased strong offensive performances, with senior Amber Morris leading the charge with 15 kills. Sophomore Virginia Rowman also made her mark with seven kills. After losing the first set 12-25, Adrian rallied to win the second set 22-25. However, despite the efforts of sophomore Kendall Sullivan, who orchestrated the offense with 12 assists, and junior Megan Reckling, who added four assists, the Bulldogs were unable to secure the win, dropping the third and fourth sets.
The defensive efforts were led by senior Mya Minjares, who recorded an impressive 25 digs, while senior Lana Cox contributed 15 digs. Despite these strong individual performances, the team fell short in the final sets of the first game.
In the second match of the day, Morris once again led the Bulldogs with nine kills, supported by Rowan's eight kills. Sophomore Chloe Kiser managed 11 assists, while Sullivan added eight assists. Minjares continued her strong defensive showing with 21 digs. Despite the solid contributions across the board, Adrian was unable to capture a set and concluded their three-game road trip in the Cleveland area with a tough loss to Muskingum University.
The Bulldogs showed resilience and strong individual performances throughout the day, and they'll look to build on these efforts as they continue their season.
