ALBION, MICH. -The Adrian College men's basketball team battled through a gritty, back-and-forth contest against conference rival Albion College, ultimately securing a hard-fought 73-70 road victory. The win was highlighted by a standout performance from senior Nick Seifert, who poured in a season-high 25 points, leading the Bulldogs to a crucial win.
Adrian came out strong, with sophomore Braylon Dickerson setting the tone early, hitting quick buckets to give the Bulldogs momentum. Adrian's offense clicked in the first half, and the Bulldogs maintained a solid lead, with Seifert providing the spark. In addition to his scoring, Seifert contributed four rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal, putting his all-around game on display. The Bulldogs entered halftime with a narrow four-point advantage.
The second half saw Albion come out with renewed energy, gradually chipping away at Adrian's lead before finally taking the lead late in the game. But the Bulldogs showed toughness in the closing minutes. Junior Seth Logan stepped up with 13 points and two assists, playing a crucial role in keeping Adrian in the game.
With the final moments of the contest on the line, Dickerson rose to the occasion, hitting four clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the win. He finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, and one assist, and was flawless from the charity stripe, making all six of his free-throw attempts.
As a team, the Bulldogs shot 44% from the field, 25% from beyond the arc, and 72% from the free-throw line, showcasing their efficiency when it mattered most in a thrilling 73-70 victory.Â
Adrian is back in action on Tuesday, January 14th, where they will travel to Calvin University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
