ADRIAN, MICH. – The Adrian College men's volleyball team opened up their 2025 campaign this Thursday where the Bulldogs hosted Hiram College in a three set defeat.
The Bulldogs kicked off their season with intensity, capturing the first set 25-21. However, Hiram responded by claiming the second set 25-19. The third set mirrored the second, with Adrian showing flashes of momentum, but Hiram ultimately edged them out 25-22.
Sophomore
Sam Landers led the Bulldogs offensively, delivering a team-high 15 kills. Senior
Beck Fieldhouse added a solid performance with 11 kills, along with four digs and two assists. Sophomore
Andrew Grazcyk skillfully directed the offense, recording an impressive 35 assists throughout the match.
Defensively, sophomore
Carles Baza anchored the back row with a team-best 12 digs, while Grazcyk contributed 10 digs to bolster the defense.
Despite a strong start, Adrian couldn't regain control as Hiram sealed the match with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set, handing the Bulldogs their first loss of the season.
Adrian is back in action on Saturday, January 18 where they will travel to Bethany, W.V. for a Tri-match between Bethany College and the University of  Rio Grande.
