LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team wrapped up its series at Lake Forest on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs bounced back to win 6-3 and split the weekend series.
Adrian took a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Bradley Somers started the scoring on a power play goal before
Ian Amsbaugh extended the lead. In the second period,
Riley Murphy made it a 3-0 game before
Patrick Saini and Somers netted power play goals to lead 5-0. Lake Forest struck at the end of the second to take a 5-1 score into the third period.
Ryder Nienhuis netted a Bulldog goal in the third to lead 6-1. Late in the period, Lake Forest made it 6-3, but couldn't complete the comeback.
Amsbaugh led the Bulldogs with three assists on the afternoon while
Dershahn Stewart stopped 27 shots in goal.
The Bulldogs will resume action on Friday, January 24 when they host the University of Dubuque at 7:00 PM.
