Women's Lacrosse Announces Team Captains for the 2025 Season

ADRIAN, MICH. – The Adrian College Women's Lacrosse team has announced their captains for the 2025 season, naming seniors Maggie Bean, Lucia Commare, Mey Sun and Zoe Weber as team captains.
 
Maggie Bean, a senior attacker from Farmington Hills, Michigan, enters her fourth year as a key player for the Bulldogs. Last season, she started all 13 games, tallying 13 goals, 4 assists, and 17 total points. Bean also contributed significantly on defense, collecting 26 ground balls and causing 7 turnovers. "Maggie has a knack for coming up with a key ground ball or goal when we need it", said Head Coach Amanda Asher, "she is an excellent communicator and helps her teammates on and off the field. She works extremely hard and is a great example for her teammates".

Lucia Commare, a senior midfielder from Port Washington, Wisconsin, also embarks on her fourth year with the Bulldogs. Over her career, she has accumulated 29 goals, 12 assists, and 41 points, along with 70 ground balls, 31 caused turnovers, and 75 draw controls. Coach Asher highlighted Commare's work ethic and team-first mentality: "Lucia is always putting in extra effort to improve our team. She is dedicated in the weight room and pushes her teammates to be better. On the field, she does whatever is needed to help us win."

Mey Sun, a fifth-year senior from Blue Ash, Ohio, returns to lead the defensive line. She holds the Bulldogs' all-time record in caused turnovers with 112 and is tied for second in career ground balls with 152. Additionally, Sun has contributed offensively with 4 goals, 4 assists, and 3 draw controls. Coach Asher expressed confidence in Sun's leadership, saying, "Mey is our leader in the defensive end and is a returning captain. She is one of the smartest players I have coached on the field and also excels in the classroom. We can always count on Mey to be in the right spot and come up with an important caused turnover when we need it."

Finally, Zoe Weber, a senior from Plymouth, Michigan, enters her fourth year as a returning captain. Over 43 games, Weber has compiled an impressive 53 goals, 39 assists, and 92 total points, along with 62 ground balls, 18 caused turnovers, and 32 draw controls. Coach Asher described Weber as a cornerstone of the team: "Zoe is a returning captain and is a vocal leader for our team. She is a skilled player in the attacking end and can score and set up her teammates. She is also very passionate about our team and its success."

The women's lacrosse team will begin their 2025 campaign on Wednesday, February 5 at Docking Stadium as they will host Siena Heights University at 7:00 PM
