FORT WAYNE, IND. - The Adrian College women's wrestling team traveled to the Indiana Tech Women's Warrior Open this Saturday where the Bulldogs finished 27th with 22.5 team points.
Junior Alexis Hart-Bucher had a strong showing in the 117-pound division, finishing sixth with a solid 2-2 record and two impressive pins along the way.
In the 124-pound division, sophomore Sophia Renteria battled hard, although she finished the tournament with a 0-2 record.
Junior Sharla Juhas also competed in the 117-pound class, posting a 2-2 record, with both wins coming by injury and pinfall.
Freshman Samathna Bultron wrestled in the 138-pound division and fought hard, though she finished with a 0-2 record. Similarly, junior Isabella Richardson faced tough competition in the 145-pound weight class and ended with a 0-2 record for the weekend.
Junior Isabel Worthing also wrestled in the 145-pound division, where she finished 0-2, but gained valuable experience from the tough matchups. Freshman Mina Casarez shared the same record in the 145-pound class, finishing 0-2 as well.
Senior Nahomi Marmolejo represented in the 160-pound weight class, finishing with a 1-2 record. Her victory came by tech fall. Sophomore Xsaria Puente also competed in the 160-pound division, finishing with a 0-2 record.
Freshman Mia Gaetjens stole the show by winning the consolation B bracket in the 160-pound class, finishing with an impressive 2-1 record. She secured her two victories with a dominant tech fall and a well-earned decision
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, February 1 where they will travel to the Tiffin University Duals. First match is scheduled for 9:00 AM.
