ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team faced a tough challenge in the series opener against St. Norbert College on Friday night, falling 6-2. The Bulldogs struggled to find the back of the net until late in the game.
After a scoreless first period, the Green Knights surged ahead with three goals in the second to take a 3-0 lead. In the third, St. Norbert extended its advantage to 5-0. The Bulldogs responded with back-to-back power play goals from Patrick Saini and Frank Tafelski. However, St. Norbert closed out the game with a goal in the final 11 seconds, securing the 6-2 victory.
Dershahn Stewart made 20 saves in 51 minutes of action, while Nolan Suggs finished with three saves in relief.
The Bulldogs will aim to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when they face St. Norbert again at 3:00 PM.
