ANGOLA, Ind. - The Adrian College women's volleyball team made the short trip to Trine University on Tuesday night for a MIAA matchup, where the Bulldogs battled hard but ultimately fell in four sets.
Trine took control early, claiming the opening set 25-13. Adrian responded with renewed energy in the second, storming back to even the match. Virginia Rowan and Khloe Budzynski led the offensive charge with eight kills apiece, helping the Bulldogs secure a 25-20 win in the second set.
The third set proved to be a thriller, as both teams traded points deep into extras before Trine edged out a 26-24 victory. The Thunder carried that momentum into the fourth, closing out the match 25-17.
Defensively, Rainie Atherton stood out with a season-high 27 digs, while Kora Nicolanti added 11 of her own. At the net, Kayla Chan was dominant with a season-best 10 blocks, followed closely by Megan Feldmann with seven. Despite the strong defensive showing, Trine took the match 3-1.
