MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team opened the 2025-26 season on Friday night at No. 2 Augsburg University. The Bulldogs dropped the opening contest on the road, 4-1.
In the first period. Augsburg jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the end of the period. Augsburg added two more to start the second period and led 3-0.
Paige Pomerleau put the Bulldogs on the board with a goal that was assisted by Elizabeth Sturgoen and
Hannah Markovich. Augsburg scored once more in the second to lead 4-1. The third period went silent as Adrian put 11 shots on goal.
Augsburg outshot Adrian 40-21 on the night. Adrian finished 0-for-3 on the power play while Augsburg went 1-for-7.
Kiera Stack started the game in goal and record 36 saves.
Adrian will wrap up the two-game series with the Bulldogs tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 PM ET.
