ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team opened its home schedule in dominant fashion on Friday night, rolling past Lawrence University 8-1 to begin the weekend series.

Frank Tafelski got the Bulldogs on the board first, giving Adrian a 1-0 lead midway through the opening period. Just over two minutes later, David Clarke doubled the advantage, sending the Bulldogs into the first intermission up 2-0.

Adrian broke the game open in the second period with four goals. Julien Jacob struck early, followed by Tafelski's second of the night on the power play. Theo Thrun added to the lead before Lawrence capitalized on a breakaway to make it 5-1. Lucas Deeb responded quickly for the Bulldogs, restoring a five-goal cushion heading into the third.

In the final frame, Adrian tacked on two more goals. Jack O'Hanisain netted the first of his collegiate career, and Bradley Somers added a power-play tally to cap off the scoring.

Clarke earned first-star honors with a four-point night (one goal, three assists). Ian Amsbaugh claimed the second star after registering four assists, while Tafelski's two-goal performance secured him the third star. Somers also had a standout outing, collecting four points with a goal and three assists. Goaltender Ryan Piros turned aside 15 shots to earn the win.
