Men's Hockey Sweeps Lawrence With Help of Hat Trick from Jake Suede

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team capped off its weekend series with Lawrence University in dominant fashion, earning a 7–3 victory on Saturday afternoon to complete the sweep.

Adrian struck early in the first period when Patrick Saini opened the scoring just past the halfway point. Later in the frame, Ian Amsbaugh doubled the lead, sending the Bulldogs into the first intermission up 2–0.

The Bulldogs extended their advantage in the second period. Jacob Suede buried a power-play goal before Ayden Peters followed with the first goal of his collegiate career, pushing the lead to 4–0. Suede added another power-play tally moments later, making it 5–0. Lawrence responded with back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to 5–2, but Saini netted his second of the night to restore a four-goal cushion heading into the third.

Lawrence added a power-play goal in the final period, but Suede sealed the win — and completed his hat trick — with an empty-netter to secure the 7–3 final.

Suede led the way with four points on three goals and an assist. Saini added two goals, while Amsbaugh chipped in a goal and an assist. Cameron Somers contributed two assists. Goaltender Nolan Suggs handled the first two periods, making 12 saves, and Jackson Bernard stopped five shots in relief during the third.

The Bulldogs now enter a bye week before returning home to host MSOE on December 5–6 at Arrington Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
