Saini's Two-Goal Night Leads Men's Hockey over MSOE

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team opened its NCHA conference series on Friday night with a strong 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

MSOE struck first to take a 1-0 lead, but Patrick Saini quickly answered to pull Adrian even. The Raiders regained the lead moments later, yet Saini responded again six minutes after his first tally to make it 2-2. The Bulldogs took their first lead of the night late in the period when Bradley Somers capitalized on a power play, sending Adrian into the first intermission up 3-2.

The momentum carried into the second period as Frank Tafelski extended the lead, followed by another power-play goal from Theo Thrun to make it 5-2. Neither team found the back of the net in the third, sealing the Bulldogs' win.

Saini led the offense with two goals and 11 shots on goal. Tafelski and Thrun each recorded a goal and an assist for two-point outings, while Ben Loreto added a pair of helpers. Goaltender Ryan Piros earned the win with a 24-save performance.

The Bulldogs will look to complete the sweep on Saturday when they face MSOE at 3:00 PM.
