ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team hosted Wittenberg University on Tuesday night inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center, coming up just short in a 69–62 battle.
Both teams started slowly on the offensive end, but strong defensive play kept the game tight. Adrian trailed by two after the first quarter and, despite picking up the pace in the second, went into halftime still facing a small deficit.
The second half remained a back-and-forth fight, with neither side able to build much momentum. As the game wore on, Wittenberg managed to maintain a narrow lead and used the clock to its advantage to secure the win.
Adrian shot 37% from the field and 27% from three, while going 14-for-21 at the free-throw line. Aubrie Ickes led the Bulldogs with 20 points, seven rebounds, and two assists, and was outstanding at the line, hitting 10 of 11 attempts. Morgan Babb added 13 points, a team-high 11 rebounds, and four assists in a strong all-around performance.
Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, December 10 where they will kick off MIAA play at The University of Olivet. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
