ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College football team closed out its 2025 home schedule in dominant fashion on Saturday, defeating Trine University 44–21 at Docking Stadium. After a slow start, the Bulldogs surged back to claim their eighth win of the season, improving to 8–1 overall and 5–1 in MIAA play.
Trine opened the game strong, scoring twice in the first quarter to take a 14–0 lead. Adrian responded late in the quarter when quarterback Noah Beaudrie scrambled for a 13-yard touchdown run. The Thunder added another score before the end of the first to go up 21–7.
The Bulldogs roared back in the second quarter, tying the game before halftime. Beaudrie found Braiden Whitaker for an 11-yard touchdown pass, then ran in his second score of the day from 18 yards out to even things up at 21–21 at the break.
Adrian took control in the second half. Early in the third quarter, a bad snap on a Trine punt sailed into the end zone for a safety, giving Adrian its first lead. Later in the quarter, Ethan Abberger hauled in a 22-yard touchdown pass from Beaudrie, and the quarterback followed with his third rushing touchdown of the afternoon to extend the lead to 37–21.
The Bulldogs' fifth touchdown came with a record-breaking moment, as the extra point marked the 41st of the season, setting a new program record for most PATs in a single season. Abberger added his second touchdown reception in the fourth quarter to seal the 44–21 victory.
Beaudrie turned in a stellar all-around performance, completing 36 of 47 passes for 436 yards and three touchdowns, while also leading the team in rushing with 82 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries. Whitaker finished with 13 receptions for 190 yards, and Abberger followed closely with 15 catches for 161 yards and two scores.
On defense, Liam Karry led the way with 10 solo tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles, and a quarterback hurry. Tim Simons added seven tackles, while Quincy Dorsey contributed six.
Adrian will look to secure a share of the MIAA title next Saturday, November 15, when the Bulldogs travel to Alma College for their regular-season finale. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
