ST. PETER, Minn. — The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team traveled to Minnesota on Friday to face No. 8 Gustavus Adolphus in a top-10 showdown. The No. 9 Bulldogs fell, 3–1.
The opening period was scoreless before Gustavus broke through in the second period. Adrian entered the third trailing 2–0. Just past the midway point of the final frame, Kaylee Simon scored to pull the Bulldogs within one.
Gustavus added an insurance goal late in the third period to secure the 3–1 victory.
Emma Simon recorded an assist on Adrian's lone goal, while Kiera Stack made 41 saves in net.
The Bulldogs will conclude the series Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET.
