RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Adrian College men's basketball team wrapped up its two-game road trip with a win at Concordia University Chicago on Sunday afternoon, as the Bulldogs took care of business in a 92–81 victory.
Riding the momentum from Saturday's win, Adrian came out strong in the first half, jumping out to an early lead and maintaining control throughout the opening period. The Bulldogs carried a 39–34 advantage into halftime.
Adrian picked up right where they left off in the second half, continuing to play unselfish, team-oriented basketball. Concordia made a late push, but the Bulldogs remained composed and closed out the game down the stretch to secure the road win.
The Bulldogs were efficient offensively, shooting 50 percent from the field, 48 percent from three-point range, and 15-of-20 from the free-throw line.
Darrius Welch led the way with a team-high 28 points and seven rebounds, going a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc. Brendon Schlink added 13 points, six rebounds, and one assist, while Jaden Smiley controlled the glass with 11 rebounds to go along with seven points and two assists.
Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, December 17 where they will host Wilmington College inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
