FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- The 2025-26 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll highlights a tightly contested field as programs across the league gear up for another thrilling winter season. With returning champions, rising talents, and numerous teams bringing back All-MIAA performers and national qualifiers, the race for this year's conference title is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory. As squads prepare for the 2026 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 28 at Trine University, the preseason poll provides an early glimpse at how the conference picture may unfold.
Adrian College lands sixth in the preseason poll after matching that finish at last year's MIAA Championships, where the Bulldogs scored 24 points. The team brings back several key contributors, including sophomore Alysia Townsend, a 2025 Second Team All-MIAA selection who impressed in her collegiate championship debut with runner-up finishes in both the high jump (1.58m) and long jump (5.33m). Also returning is sophomore Piper Pierce, who placed ninth in the long jump (4.96m) and 12th in the triple jump (9.54m), adding important depth to Adrian's jumps group.
The Bulldogs open the season under new leadership, as former assistant coach Kaylie Laskody steps into the head coaching role following her promotion in May 2025. With a strong core of young talent and fresh direction at the helm, Adrian looks poised to take meaningful strides this winter and make its presence felt in the conference race.
