MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team dominated in Milwaukee on Friday night, erupting for ten goals in a commanding 10-1 victory over MSOE.
Adrian set the tone early as Elizabeth Sturgeon opened the scoring, followed by goals from Emma Simon and Parker Beyer to make it 3-0. The Bulldogs continued to pour it on, with Sophia LaColla and Riley Johnson adding tallies to give Adrian a 5-0 lead after the first period.
The offensive surge carried into the second, where Anneliese Klein, Paige Pomerleau, and Ava Mattaliano each found the back of the net to push the lead to 8-0. In the third period, Pomerleau buried her second goal of the night to extend the advantage to 9-0. MSOE broke through late in the frame, but Johnson struck again with five seconds remaining to cap the scoring at 10-1.
Maddy Loe led the Bulldogs with three assists, while Johnson, Beyer, Emma Simon, and Kaylee Simon all recorded two assists apiece. Goaltender Kiera Stack earned the start, making 13 saves, and Vanessa Ruban finished the game in net with four stops.
Adrian will look to complete the series sweep on Saturday afternoon when they take on MSOE at 3:00 PM ET.
