DE PERE, Wis. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team battled St. Norbert College on Saturday afternoon, hoping to complete a series sweep. After a thrilling 3-3 tie, the game was decided in a shootout, where St. Norbert emerged victorious.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the first period, with Tia Lascelle finding the back of the net. St. Norbert quickly responded, tying the game at 1-1 as the teams headed into the second period. In the middle frame, Karmen Anderson put Adrian back in front, but the Green Knights answered once again, making it 2-2.
Lascelle scored her second goal of the game in the third period, giving Adrian a 3-2 lead. However, St. Norbert tied the game once more, forcing the Bulldogs into overtime. After a scoreless extra frame, the game went to a shootout, where St. Norbert ultimately secured the win.
With the shootout victory, St. Norbert earned two points in the NCHA standings, while Adrian picked up one. The Green Knights now hold a one-point lead in the conference standings, with four regular-season games remaining.
The Bulldogs will return home next weekend to host Concordia Wisconsin for another NCHA series. Friday's game is set for a 7:00 PM ET start.
