ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Adrian College track and field team competed at the annual GVSU Big Saturday with notable finishes from across the board.
On Friday, junior
Will Houvener made history by breaking the 5,000m school record with an impressive time of 14:43.22.
On the men's side, senior
Asher Cousino delivered a standout performance, taking sixth place in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.52 seconds. He also recorded a season-best time of 22.86 seconds in the 200m dash, finishing 21st.
In the long jump, freshman
Ian Chavis posted a mark of 5.55m (18-2.50) to finish 39th, while fellow freshman Forrest Schroeder followed closely behind in 41st with a jump of 5.43m (17-9.75).
In the pole vault, senior
Cameron Overmyer secured an eighth-place finish with a height of 4.35m (14-3.25), while freshman
Willem Evenson cleared 3.75m (12-3.50) to finish 19th.
On the women's side, freshman
Alysia Townsend impressed in the high jump, earning third place with a mark of 1.58m (5-2.25).
Freshman
Piper Pierce also competed in the long jump, finishing 31st with a leap of 4.54m (14-10.75).
Adrian is back on the track on Friday, February 21 where they will travel to the 2025 Flag City Tune-Up where the first event is set for 2:00 PM.
