ANGOLA, Ind. – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team wrapped up its regular season with a dominant 7-0 win over Trine University on Saturday evening. After a 9-0 victory the previous night, the No. 7 Bulldogs aimed to sweep the series and build momentum heading into the NCHA Slaats Cup Tournament.
Adrian wasted no time taking control, with Maya Roy scoring just 50 seconds into the game to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Later in the period, Riley Johnson added another goal, putting Adrian up 2-0 after the first period.
In the second period, Zoe Lohrei extended the lead to 3-0, followed by goals from Tia Lascelle and Paige Pomerleau, pushing the score to 5-0 heading into the third period. The Bulldogs closed out the game in the final frame, with Courtney Ben and Johnson scoring power-play goals to secure the 7-0 victory.
Ben, Karmen Anderson, Aileena Dopheide, and Emma Simon each recorded two assists on the night, while Keira Stack earned the shutout with 19 saves.
Adrian's next contest will be at home on Friday, February 21, when they open the NCHA Quarterfinals with Game 1 at 3:00 PM. The opponent will be determined later tonight.
