ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team opened the NCHA Harris Cup Playoffs on Friday evening with Game 1 of the Quarterfinals against MSOE. The Bulldogs pulled ahead in the third period to take the game 4-2.
MSOE struck early, scoring just 28 seconds into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Later in the period, Jacob Suede answered with a power-play goal, tying the game 1-1 as the teams headed into the first intermission. In the second period, Frank Tafelski put Adrian ahead 2-1 with a goal that carried the Bulldogs into the third with a one-goal advantage.
In the final period, Ian Amsbaugh extended the lead, and Bradley Somers sealed the victory with a goal, giving Adrian a 4-2 win.
Dershahn Stewart had a solid performance in goal, finishing with 21 saves.
The Bulldogs will look to advance to the NCHA Semifinals tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 PM.
