ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's volleyball team hosted Siena Heights University at the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center on Wednesday night in a heated thriller. The Bulldogs battled hard but lost three straight sets to the Saints, losing the match 3-0.
The Bulldogs and Saints faced off in front of a heavy home crowd and delivered what was an exciting match right until the end. Siena Heights got the best of the Bulldogs in each set, but not without the Bulldogs putting up a fight and keeping each match-up close.
Leading for the Bulldogs on Wednesday was
Sam Landers who registered a team-lead 12 kills and .588 attack percentage. Libero
Rolen Maclin grabbed 9 digs in the effort to lead the way in that category, while
Carson Bell fired 4 service aces, including a hot-streak late in the match to bring the Bulldogs within a few points of extending the contest.
The Saints grabbed 25-22, 25-23, and 25-22 victories, with each set providing some solid entertainment for those in attendance.
The Adrian College men's volleyball squad will return to the court on March 21-22 for back-to-back road MCVL conference contests with Mount St. Joseph and Wittenberg.
