MEQUON, Wis. - The Adrian College women's lacrosse team continued their four game winning streak at the end the two-game road trip to Wisconsin with the 17-6 win over Concordia University (Wis.).
The Bulldogs came out firing on all cylinders, dominating the first quarter with seven goals. Mariana Miller led the charge with three in the first, while Abby Malone found the back of the net twice. Sarah Gross and Maggie Bean also got in on the action, each scoring a goal to put Adrian in control early.
Adrian maintained their momentum in the second quarter, extending their lead with four more goals. Madeline Turcotte scored once, while Gross added two goals to push the Bulldogs' lead to 11-3 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Adrian continued to assert their dominance. Gross opened the scoring, followed by Bean and Miller, completing the Bulldogs' scoring for the period, with a comfortable 14-3 lead heading into the third.
The Bulldogs didn't let up in the fourth quarter, adding three more goals. Miller scored again, Gross tallied her fourth, and Kayla McCann capped off the game with her first collegiate goal to secure a commanding 17-6 victory, concluding the road trip on a high note.
Mariana Miller was the standout performer, finishing with an impressive six goals on 13 shots, along with two assists, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Turcotte showcased her playmaking ability with one goal, seven assists, five ground balls, and seven draw control wins. Gross was a constant threat, scoring four goals and winning four draw controls. Malone had a strong all-around game, contributing three goals, six ground balls, and three caused turnovers, while Bean added a key goal and assist to help seal the victory.
Adrian is back in action on Saturday, March 22 where they will host cross-town rival Siena Heights University at 7:00 PM.
