Nieman Elevated to Head Coach of Club Wrestling; Altman Named Assistant NCAA Men's Wrestling Coach

ADRIAN, Mich. – With the addition of club wrestling at Adrian College, Athletic Director Craig Rainey announced the promotion of Noah Nieman as head coach of the Adrian College club wrestling team. In addition, Zach Altman will return to Adrian and serve as the assistant coach of the NCAA men's wrestling team.

Nieman has spent the last three seasons as assistant coach of the NCAA men's wrestling team and has played a large role in the team's back-to-back MIAA Championships. During his three seasons as assistant coach, Adrian totaled nine National Qualifiers and two All-Americans. Nieman was a 2021 graduate of Adrian College where he was a member of the wrestling team and ranks in the top-5 in program history in wins, wins by decisions, match wrestled, and tech falls.

Altman returns to Adrian College after graduating in 2023. After college, Altman spent a season as the assistant coach at Alma College before serving as head coach at the University of Pittsburgh – Bradford. While wrestling at Adrian, Altman was a National Qualifier in 2023 and an MIAA Individual Champion and Team Champion. He was a captain on the wrestling team for three seasons.

Both Nieman and Altman will begin their coaching responsibilities immediately and begin to prepare for the 2025-26 season.
