BOSSIER CITY, La. – The Adrian College club wrestling team sent six Bulldogs to compete at the NCWA National Championships over the weekend, marking the program's inaugural season. The group gained valuable experience on the national stage, highlighted by one wrestler advancing to the second day of competition.
At 141 pounds, Sean Samuels competed in a pair of matches, dropping both by fall. Gavin Berkeypile delivered the top performance for Adrian in the same weight class, advancing to day two of the tournament. Berkeypile opened with a fall in 2:33 before moving into the consolation bracket. He responded with three consecutive wins by fall (1:38, 1:07) before his run came to an end in the consolation round of 16.
Easton Hardesty represented the Bulldogs at 157 pounds, going 0-2 on the day. At 174 pounds, Ben Colbart finished 1-2, earning a 4-1 decision victory in his opening match. Zachary Rodriguez rounded out the lineup at 184 pounds, where he also went 0-2.
The Bulldogs close out their inaugural season at the national championships and will look to build on the experience as they continue to grow the program ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
