Men's Lacrosse Hold Allegheny to Four Goals in Dominant Home Win

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team dominated Allegheny College at Docking Stadium on Saturday, holding the Gators to only four goals, while tallying twenty for a 20-4 victory.

The Bulldogs dominated right from the opening face-off to the final buzzer. Adrian exploded for six goals in the first five minutes of play and prevented the Gators from scoring a goal in the first half. After two frames, the Bulldogs led by a 13-0 tally, but didn't stop there as the home team added 7 more in the second half.

Alec Winegar and Michael Jonas each tallied 4 times for Adrian on Saturday, while Austin Selvage also grabbed a hat-trick and 3 assists. Aidan Strader, Michael Camacho, Cameron Reed, Tyler Ristau, Jake Coakley, Bowen Sparks, and Owen Armstrong each registered a single goal, in addition to Riley Edwards, who added 2 if his own. Jonas and Derek Hassel led their team with 3 helpers apiece.

Brandon Hoerauf, Selvage, and Winegar were forces up front on Saturday, providing 7 shot attempts each in a game that saw the Bulldogs out-shoot their opponent, 58-24. Leading in the ground ball category was Nico Palazzolo wit 7. In the turnover game, Reed led his team in CT's, as he normally does, with 4 on the day.

All three goaltenders appeared in Saturday's game for Adrian, as Sam Spangler saw the first half, making 3 saves. Andrew Buss and Simon Milatz entered the game for the 3rd and 4th quarters, combining for 3 more saves in the win.

The Bulldogs move to 6-4 on the season and will now prepare for their final non-conference game, set to take place next weekend at Illinois Wesleyan. Face-off will commence on March 29 at 3:00 PM EST in Bloomington, Illinois.
