ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's volleyball team dominated The University of Olivet at home on Wednesday night, in a mid-week MCVL contest. The win was the Bulldogs' second 3-0 victory over the Comets this season.
The Bulldogs grabbed their second win over Olivet and fifth of the season. Back on February 1, Adrian downed Olivet by a 3-0 score in a non-conference match-up. The Bulldogs continued that dominance of the Comets, coming away with another commanding match victory this time around for their first conference win of the year.
On Wednesday, Adrian star-player,
Sam Landers, led the way with eleven kills in the match and a .391 attack percentage on twenty-three total attacks. He also provided two solo blocks and two block assists. Landers closed out his stat-line scooping eight digs for his team.
Beck Fieldhouse and
Nathan Webster finished right behind Landers with nine total kills apiece. As he has all season,
Andrew Graczyk carried the load in the assists column, grabbing twenty-three of his own, while
Rolen Maclin registered a team-lead ten digs.
The Bulldogs will look to carry this momentum into next week when they host cross-town rival Siena Heights on March 12 at 7:00 PM at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center.
Sam Landers joined us for an interview after the win to talk about his team's effort and the game plan for a crucial contest next week.
