ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team took a short trip to Albion College on Wednesday afternoon where the Bulldogs came out with a crucial road victory 18-7.
After a tough four-game skid, the Bulldogs came roaring back with a statement win, picking up their first conference victory of the season in dominant fashion.
Albion struck first with two quick goals in the opening quarter, but Adrian wasted no time responding. The Bulldogs caught fire, rattling off five unanswered goals to close out the first and take a 5-3 lead.
Adrian carried that momentum into the second quarter, adding three more goals before the half, including strong finishes from
Mariana Miller and
Abby Malone. With a balanced offensive attack and a rock-solid defense, the Bulldogs headed into the locker room up 8-4.
The second half was all Adrian. Miller found the back of the net twice early in the third, leading an offensive surge that saw the Bulldogs score seven goals in the quarter.
Abby Malone,
Madeline Turcotte, and
Sarah Gross each contributed to the scoring frenzy, putting the game firmly out of reach.
In the fourth, Adrian cruised to the finish line with three more goals, two coming from Turcotte and Miller once again, sealing a convincing win over the Britons.
Mariana Miller led the charge with a monster game, six goals and three assists.
Madeline Turcotte followed closely with four goals and two assists, while
Maggie Bean and
Abby Malone each recorded hat tricks.
Kacie Woodall and
Sarah Gross chipped in with a goal apiece in a total team effort.
Adrian is back in action on Friday, April 18 where they will host Alma College in Docking Stadium and honor the 2025 senior class before action begins at 7:00 PM.
