ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team held Senior Day inside Docking Stadium on Friday evening as the Bulldogs hosted Alma College, snagging a 12-4 win to keep the Bulldogs playoff hopes alive.
Before the opening whistle, the Bulldogs took a moment to honor the heart and soul of their team, the six seniors from the Class of 2025. Surrounded by friends, family, and the home crowd,
Avary Allstead,
Maggie Bean,
Lucia Commare,
Olivia Gedman,
Addison Krzyzak, and
Zoe Weber were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and impact both on the field and in the classroom.
With their MIAA playoff hopes on the line, the Bulldogs came out firing in a must-win matchup against Alma and it didn't take long for the offense to get rolling.
Madeline Turcotte wasted no time putting Adrian on the board with an early goal to set the tone. After Alma briefly tied the game at one, Turcotte struck again, and
Mariana Miller followed with a goal just before the end of the first quarter to give Adrian a 3-1 lead.
Early in the second,
Abby Malone joined the scoring party, extending the lead. Alma responded with a burst of their own, scoring three unanswered to pull close. But the Bulldogs refused to give up momentum.
Sarah Gross tallied her first of the game, followed by goals from
Kayla McCann and
Kacie Woodall, giving Adrian a 7-4 cushion heading into halftime.
The second half saw more of the same from the determined Bulldogs. Turcotte completed her hat trick to open the third, while Miller found the back of the net once more, pushing Adrian's lead and keeping control of the game.
With a 9-4 advantage heading into the fourth, Adrian sealed the win in style. Senior
Maggie Bean,
Abby Malone, and Gross each added insurance goals, closing out a dominant 12-4 victory on senior day.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday, April 22 where they will travel to Kalamazoo College in a must win matchup. The opening draw is set for 7:00 PM.
