FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced its Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon. This week, Adrian College had four athletes including Madeline Turcotte, Mey Sun, Sam Spangler and Nico Palazzolo.

Madeline Turcotte was named MIAA Specialist of the Week after an outstanding showing against Kalamazoo College and Albion College. Over the two games, Turcotte racked up 10 goals, two assists, three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and won 16 draw controls. Her dominant play helped lead the Bulldogs to their first appearance in the MIAA Conference Tournament finals in over a decade, the program's first since 2014.

On the defensive side, Mey Sun earned MIAA Defensive Player of the Week honors after anchoring the Bulldogs' back line. Over the two tournament games, Sun collected six ground balls and caused six turnovers, five of which came during the matchup with Kalamazoo. A consistent force all season, Sun currently leads the Bulldogs in caused turnovers.

Nico Palazzolo earns his second-straight Athlete of the Week honor for Men's Lacrosse after another solid performance in Adrian College's win over Albion last Wednesday. Palazzolo tallied twice and won 50% of his face-offs, going 9 for 18 in the victory. The face-off specialist also added 5 shot attempts and picked up 5 ground balls.

Sam Spangler grabs his second Athlete of the Week honor of 2025, as he led the Bulldogs to the 10-8 road win over Albion, stopping 13 shots. The all-star goaltender also grabbed 5 ground balls and caused one turnover.

Sun and Turcotte with the rest of the women's lacrosse squad are gearing up for the semifinals of the MIAA Conference Tournament where they will head to Holland, Michigan and face Hope College at 7:00 PM.

Last week's win over Albion was Adrian College men's lacrosse's first over the Britons since 2014 and gave them the No. 2 seed for this year's MIAA Conference Tournament. The Bulldogs will host the Britons tomorrow at 7:00 PM at Docking Stadium.
