TROY, Mich. -- The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) announced its All-American Teams for Men's Division 1 on Monday, tabbing 15 players from across the ACHA to the First, Second, and Third All-American squads. Senior Captain,
Sebastian Smith, of the Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 1 hockey team earned a spot on the Third Team, while Senior Assistant Captain,
Ethan McLaughlin received Honorable Mention honors.
Smith captained his team to the ACHA National Championship game this past season and led the squad in points scored with 44. Over 36 games, Smith registered 22 goals and 22 assists, including 4 points at the 2025 National Tournament in St. Louis.
Over his four-year career so far, the Pinckney native has produced 173 points in 135 total games played. The skilled forward was also a key contributor and an Assistant Captain for the 2024 Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 1 National Championship team just one year ago.
Other individual accolades for
Sebastian Smith since his freshman season include an All-Conference First Team nod, an All-Conference Second Team nod, and an ACHA National All-Tournament Team recognition. Smith also represented Team USA at the World Cup of University Hockey in 2023 and the FISU World University Winter Games in 2025.
Ethan McLaughlin was also named an All-American, landing on the Honorable Mention Team after a stellar season offensively as the leader of Adrian's backend. McLaughlin set career-highs in goals and assists during the 2024-25 campaign with 9 tallies and 30 helpers over 38 games played. He led his team in total assists and contributed 6 of his 9 markers on the power play. The Canadian also earned a GL6 All-Conference First Team honor and an ACHA All-Tournament First Team recognition.
The All-American honors are the first of both Smith and McLaughlin's career and makes them the 18th and 19th All-Americans in program history. Both student-athletes intend to return to the team in the Fall for their fifth years of ACHA eligibility.
