ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 hockey program is proud to announce its official roster for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
The Bulldogs completed their annual tryout camp last week, which resulted in great success in determining the 27-man roster. The eight newly rostered players include one defenseman, two goalies, and five forwards. The defensive core was bolstered with the addition of
Ryan Brow (Monroe, MI), a senior transfer from SUNY-Brockport (NCAA DIII). In goal, the Bulldogs add
Dylan Eliason (Northville, MI / Utica Jr. Comets NCDC) and
John Lloyd (Toronto, Ontario / Fort Erie Meteors GOJHL). Up front in the forward position, the team welcomes freshmen
Marc-Antoine Belzile (Boischatel, Quebec / Beauce-Appalaches Condors QJHL),
Carter McLeod (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories / Neepawa Titans MJHL),
Luke Marley (Macomb, MI / Drayton Valley Thunder AJHL), as well as sophomore
Jack Waldo (Northville, MI), who elevates within from the Adrian College ACHA Division 2 program, and junior transfer
Eli Reimer (Lansing, MI), who joins the squad after stints with Wilfred Laurier (USPORTS) and Wisconsin-Eau Claire (NCAA DIII).
The eight incoming student-athletes will join nineteen returners who finished last season with a 32-4-2 record, winning the inaugural GL6 Regular Season Championship and the program's ninth straight Conference Regular Season Championship. The Bulldogs also captured the inaugural GL6 Playoff Championship last season, in which they hosted at the Arrington Ice Arena back in February, before cruising their way to the ACHA National Championship game for the third season in a row.
This season's roster is comprised of five seniors, eight juniors, seven sophomores, five freshmen, and two graduate students, as forward
Sebastian Smith and defenseman
Ethan McLaughlin both return for their fifth years of ACHA eligibility. As expected, the team features a very diverse group of student-athletes from all over North America, including the state of Michigan (10) and Canadian provinces/territories of Ontario (8), Alberta (4), British Columbia (2), Quebec (2), and Northwest Territories (1).
"I am very happy with our final roster," said Head Coach,
Gary Astalos, who heads into his tenth season at the helm of the MD1 Bulldogs.
"It's very exciting to bring a core group from last season, while also adding some very good freshmen and transfers. This group is very motivated, and I know we are extremely excited to continue to prepare for the season ahead."
The MD1 Bulldogs will open the season on the road on Thursday, September 18
th for a 7:00 PM puck drop against the Trine University Thunder in Indiana. Adrian will then host Trine for its home-opener on September 19
th during Adrian College Homecoming Weekend at the Arrington Ice Arena at 7:05 PM.
