BETHANY, W.V. -- The Adrian College men's soccer team opened its season on Saturday afternoon with a narrow 1-0 loss to Bethany College.
The Bison opened the scoring in the 26th minute of the match on what would be the only tally of the day. Adrian was hopeful to get off to the scorching hot start they had last season, but came up short in that effort on Saturday.
The Bulldogs were out-shot by the Bison 12-6 in the contest, but managed to put up 3 shots on goal, the same amount as their rival.
Dominic Kretschmer was the only Bulldog to see 90 minutes of play and
Kyle Peterson led the charge with 2 shot attempts in defeat. Goalkeeper,
Eli Sizemore, began his sophomore season with a 2-save performance to keep his team in the match.
Adrian will look to bounce back on Wednesday next week when they host Grace Christian University at Docking Stadium for a 4:00 PM kick-off.
