ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's soccer team opened its home schedule at Docking Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, suffering a 2-0 loss to the Grace Christian University Tigers.
The Bulldogs and Tigers gutted it out in a spirited match that saw plenty of fouls and cards, providing a physical showing for all fans in attendance.
Each team traded scoring chances throughout the entire match, and it was the Bulldogs who ultimately out-shot their opponents by a 13-11 tally, including the lead in the shots on goal column, 10-7. Unfortunately for the home Bulldogs, they were unable to solve the Tigers' goalkeeper, who kept his team alive, while receiving some support on offense to secure the win.
Kyle Peterson led the way for Adrian with 4 shot attempts in the contest, with 3 of them landing on goal. Bulldog goalkeeper,
Eli Sizemore, made 5 saves for his club in the loss.
Adrian moves to 0-2 on the season and will return to the pitch on Saturday, September 6 at DePauw University.
