ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College head golf coach Brent Greenwood recently competed in two tournaments, showcasing his skill on the course with a runner-up finish and a tournament victory.
Greenwood first teed off at the S.P. Jermain Memorial Amateur Tournament held at Ottawa Park Golf Course, where he finished second overall after an impressive run through five match-play rounds over four days. Entering as the No. 8 seed, Greenwood opened with a win over the No. 25 seed by three holes. He advanced with a one-hole playoff victory against the No. 9 seed, followed by a two-hole win over the top-seeded player. In the semifinals, Greenwood outlasted the No. 5 seed in two playoff holes to reach the championship match, where he narrowly fell on the final hole to secure a second-place finish.
Just days later, on August 3, Greenwood bounced back by winning the Calbert Memorial Classic at Cascades Golf Course. The tournament, played in a stroke-play format, saw Greenwood card a 2-under-par 70 to claim the title. He recorded birdies on holes 1, 10, and 17, and added an eagle on the par-4 7th hole to seal the victory.
Greenwood enters his fifth season as head coach of the Adrian College men's and women's golf programs, continuing to lead by example both on and off the course.
