Football Demolishes Thiel 76-0 in Home Opener

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College football team opened their home schedule in dominant fashion on Saturday, shutting out Thiel College in a 76-0 rout. The Bulldogs' offense was unstoppable, while the defense turned in a commanding performance, contributing to one of the most lopsided victories in program history.

The 76-point outburst marks the second-highest single-game point total in Adrian College football history and stands as the largest margin of victory ever recorded by the program.

Adrian wasted no time getting on the board, as Tyler Green broke free for a 40-yard touchdown run to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead. On the next two possessions, quarterback Noah Beaudrie connected with Ethan Abberger for touchdown passes of 4 and 16 yards, pushing the lead to 21-0. Braiden Whitaker added a 16-yard touchdown reception to close out the first quarter with Adrian ahead 28-0.

The second quarter saw more of the same dominance. Beaudrie ran in a touchdown of his own, followed by a scoring reception from Georgio Pitts and a 5-yard touchdown run from Sebastian Boswell, sending Adrian into halftime with a 49-0 lead.

The Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas in the second half. Tyler Morgan opened third-quarter scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run, followed by a 33-yard rushing score from Anthony Greear and a 5-yard touchdown by Carsen Lewis. The defense capped the performance with a statement play: with 1:46 remaining in the game, Michael Brown intercepted a pass and returned it 62 yards for a touchdown, sealing the 76-0 final.

Quarterback Noah Beaudrie finished the day 8-of-12 for 111 yards and three touchdowns. Boswell also saw action, going 6-of-9 for 37 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Greear led with three carries for 46 yards, while Boswell added seven carries for 44 yards. Abberger paced the receivers with four catches for 62 yards and two scores.

Kicker Jack Boike converted seven extra points, while David Galligan added three more.

Defensively, Bryce Payne led the Bulldogs with five total tackles, including 2.5 for loss. The unit tallied three interceptions on the day, with picks coming from Jonathon Melendez, Elijah Hayward, and Brown.

Adrian returns to action next Saturday, September 20 at 3:00 PM, when they host Manchester University for their annual Homecoming game.
