ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's soccer team came up just short in a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Wittenberg University on Saturday night inside Docking Stadium.
The opening half was a defensive battle, with neither side able to find much momentum. Adrian created chances with five shots, including a few on target, while Wittenberg applied pressure with 11 attempts. The half closed in a scoreless tie.
The match remained tight well into the second half until Wittenberg finally broke through late, netting the decisive goal to secure the victory.
Adrian finished with 11 total shots, four on frame. In goal, Katelyn Stanton turned in a standout performance, recording 11 saves, including several key stops that kept the Bulldogs within striking distance.
