ADA, Ohio – The Adrian College men's soccer team came up short on Tuesday night, falling 1-0 to unbeaten Ohio Northern inside Kerscher Stadium.
The Bulldogs battled hard defensively, with goalkeeper Eli Sizemore standing tall between the posts, recording six saves on 19 Polar Bear shots. Despite Ohio Northern's pressure, Adrian held firm through the first half, heading into the break deadlocked 0-0.
The decisive moment came in the 63rd minute, when Ohio Northern converted to give the hosts the lead. Adrian created limited opportunities in attack, finishing with just four total shots and one on goal, with Ryan Goeke and Andy Ignatovich among those testing the ONU defense.
Discipline also factored into the contest, as Adrian was shown two first-half yellow cards. The Bulldogs finished with 16 fouls compared to 14 from the Polar Bears.
With the result, Adrian drops to 2-9 overall. The Bulldogs will be back in action at home to start conference play hosting Olivet Tuesday evening for a 7:00pm kick off.
