HOLLAND, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to Hope College on Wednesday night for an MIAA showdown and battled until the final minutes before falling 86–76.
The contest was tightly contested from the opening tip, as both teams came out firing and played at a fast pace. Hope held the advantage for much of the first half, but the Bulldogs stayed within striking distance by knocking down key baskets late in the period. Adrian went into halftime trailing by just three points.
The second half mirrored the first, with both teams trading baskets and maintaining the high tempo. Hope began to stretch its lead late in the half, but Adrian responded with a strong push down the stretch, trimming the deficit to just two points. The comeback attempt was halted, however, as Hope connected on a pair of timely three-pointers to seal the game.
Adrian finished the night shooting 37 percent from the field and from beyond the arc, while going an efficient 24-of-29 from the free-throw line. Darrius Welch led the Bulldogs with 22 points and eight rebounds. Jeremiah Dallas added 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists, while Seth Logan also chipped in 15 points to go along with three rebounds and one assist.
