ANGOLA, Ind. – The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to Trine University on Saturday afternoon for a MIAA matchup, where the Bulldogs fell 101–55.
Trine jumped out to an early advantage in the opening half, putting Adrian in an uphill battle from the start. Despite the early deficit, the Bulldogs put together several runs of their own to chip away at Trine's lead before halftime. Adrian headed into the locker room trailing by 29.
The second half followed a similar pattern, as Trine continued to build on its first-half momentum. Adrian made a few key plays to cut into the deficit, but each surge was quickly answered by the Thunder. Trine controlled the tempo down the stretch and pulled away to secure the 101–55 victory.
Adrian shot 33 percent from the field and 35 percent from beyond the arc, while converting 4-of-8 attempts from the free-throw line. Carson Lutz led the Bulldogs with a team-high 17 points, adding four rebounds and two assists. Darrius Welch also reached double figures, finishing with 10 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
