Women’s Basketball Comes Up Short Against Hope College

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team welcomed Hope College to the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center on Wednesday night for a MIAA matchup. Despite a strong effort, the Bulldogs fell to the Flying Dutch 84–65.

Hope jumped out to an early lead and maintained control for much of the opening quarter. Adrian responded late in the period with a pair of baskets to trim the deficit heading into the second. The Bulldogs continued to battle in the second quarter, finding momentum late in the half to keep the game within six points at the break.

Coming out of halftime, Adrian came out firing. The Bulldogs chipped away throughout the third quarter and eventually tied the game late in the quarter, sending the contest into the fourth deadlocked. Hope answered with a run of their own to open the final frame, regaining control and pulling away down the stretch to secure the 84–65 victory.

Adrian shot 40 percent from the field, went 3-of-23 from beyond the arc (13 percent), and converted all 10 of their free-throw attempts. Morgan Babb led the Bulldogs with a team-high 23 points, marking her fourth 20-point performance of the season. Babb also grabbed 10 rebounds and added a steal. Hannah Lisch also reached double figures with 10 points while contributing three rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, January 17 where they will host Trine University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
