ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team welcomed Trine University on Saturday afternoon inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center. Despite a strong defensive effort, the Bulldogs came up short, falling 68–50.
From the opening tip, the contest was played at a high level on the defensive end, as neither team was able to find a consistent offensive rhythm early. Both squads exchanged baskets throughout the first quarter, which ended tied at 10. The second quarter mirrored the first, with each team trading scores. Trine built a slight advantage late in the half, but the Bulldogs responded quickly, regaining momentum and sending the game into halftime knotted once again.
Trine applied pressure coming out of the locker room and gained a small edge during the third quarter. The Thunder controlled the pace in the fourth, and although Adrian made several late runs, time ultimately worked against the Bulldogs. Trine pulled away in the closing minutes to secure the 68–50 victory.
Adrian finished the game shooting 37 percent from the field and 36 percent from beyond the arc, while converting 3-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Hannah Lisch led the Bulldogs with 16 points, adding one rebound, one assist, and one steal.
Morgan Babb followed with 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Aubrie Ickes contributed on both ends of the floor, grabbing seven rebounds to go along with five points, one assist, and four steals.
