NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Adrian College women's basketball team traveled to Saint Mary's College on Wednesday night for an MIAA matchup. Despite a strong effort, the Bulldogs came up short, falling 63–53.
The opening quarter featured a back-and-forth battle, with both teams finding success offensively. The score was tied at 12 at the end of the first. Saint Mary's gained momentum in the second quarter, building a lead and heading into halftime ahead 32–24.
The second half continued at a competitive pace, as both teams scored efficiently. Saint Mary's controlled the third quarter, setting the stage for a strong finish. Adrian responded in the fourth, outscoring the Belles in the final frame, but the comeback attempt fell short as Saint Mary's secured the 63–53 victory.
Adrian shot 35 percent from the field, five percent from beyond the arc, and went 14-for-19 from the free-throw line.
Aubrie Ickes led the Bulldogs with an impressive performance, recording a team-high 22 points along with 12 rebounds, one assist, one block, and three steals.
Morgan Babb added eight points, four rebounds, and one steal.
