ALBION, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to Albion College on Saturday afternoon, where the Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaking 80–78 loss in a tightly contested MIAA matchup.
Adrian came out strong in the first half, jumping out to an early lead and controlling the tempo for much of the opening period. Albion made a late push before the break, but the Bulldogs still headed into halftime with a 45–38 advantage.
The second half turned into a back-and-forth battle, with both teams scoring at a high clip. Albion gained momentum late and managed to take the lead in the final seconds. The Britons then dribbled out the clock to secure the 80–78 victory.
The Bulldogs shot 49 percent from the field and 28 percent from beyond the arc, while going 12-of-22 from the free-throw line. Darrius Welch led Adrian with a team-high 19 points, adding four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jeremiah Dallas paced the Bulldogs on the glass with eight rebounds and chipped in eight points.
Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, January 28 where they will travel to Alma College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
