ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College men's basketball team traveled to Alma College on Wednesday night and, despite a strong effort, fell to the Scots 102–79.
Both teams came out firing in the first half, trading baskets at a fast pace. Adrian battled back and went into halftime trailing by just three points. Alma gained momentum coming out of the break and began to pull away, extending its lead during the latter portion of the second half.
The Bulldogs attempted to mount a late run, but time became a factor as Alma maintained control down the stretch to secure the win.
Adrian shot 36 percent from the field, 32 percent from three-point range, and went 16-for-23 from the free-throw line. Darrius Welch led the Bulldogs with a team-high 27 points, adding six rebounds and two assists. Carson Lutz contributed 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the effort.
Up Next: The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, January 31 where they will welcome Hope College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
