ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team welcomed MIAA rival Albion College to the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon and put together an impressive comeback to secure a 70–62 victory.
The Bulldogs struggled out of the gate, enduring a significant shooting slump in the opening quarter. Albion capitalized early, jumping out to a 15–0 run midway through the first period. By the end of the quarter, Adrian trailed 19–5. Despite the slow start, the Bulldogs began to settle in during the second quarter, chipping away at the deficit with timely baskets and key trips to the free-throw line. Adrian carried that momentum into halftime, heading to the locker room down just six points.
Coming out of the break, Adrian flipped the script. The Bulldogs ignited a dominant third-quarter surge, pouring in 30 points to seize control of the game and build a lead heading into the fourth. Albion attempted to mount a comeback late, cutting the margin to four in the latter stages of the final quarter, but Adrian remained composed and closed out the contest to earn the 70–62 win.
Adrian shot 39 percent from the field, 31 percent from three-point range, and knocked down 14 of 18 free throws. Morgan Babb led the way with a standout performance, recording a 25-point double-double with 14 rebounds, two assists, and six steals. Hannah Lisch added 16 points to go along with two assists and three steals, while Aubrie Ickes also finished in double figures with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 7–6 overall and 3–1 in MIAA play.
